Practical drive limits for drive controller chipsets & BIOSes were effectively eliminated way back in 2003 with the introduction of the ATA-6 standard. Allows for hard drives up to 128 PiB in size. Meaning that WD Black you are planning on (or any other drive 2TB or smaller) will not be a problem.

More important these days for hard drives over 2TB is what OS you will be running. You haven't said, so: to use a disk over 2TB, your operating system needs GPT support.

Windows XP 32-bit can only see up to 2TB disks maximum, whether the OS is on it or its a data drive. If you buy a 3TB (or larger) disk, you'll only get 2TB of capacity out of it.

XP 64-bit can use a data disk larger than 2TB (one other than the OS is on/booting from), but cannot create such a disk (in the "GPT" format).

Vista & 7 (& 8, but no one uses that) in both 32-bit & 64-bit can all use and format drives in the GPT format (over 2TB). But...only 64-bit versions of those OSes on UEFI-based systems (which yours is not) can boot from over-2TB GPT drives. Meaning using such drives on older motherboards such as yours means they can only be used as data drives (ones the OS is not installed on/booting from).
