When forsaken
And hardly bearing my soul
Quietly, unexpectedly
Embraced me the Lord.
Not loud with trumpets
But silently with true caress
Not on a shiny day when the sun is high
But in war when dark is the night
And my vain eyes
They turned blind
And all my youth just faded and died
But Him the splendid and wonderful
I shall forever see shine.... my two cents, of course.
