I have an AG8 motherboard that won't boot. The hexadecimal post code display shows the value 8.
Previously I had the problem that it always restarted a couple of seconds after a shutdown. (All Wake Up functions were set to off in the bios setup.) Clearing the CMOS didn't help either. Mysteriously a complete power down and a battery replacement solved the problem. After that it performed diagnostics for a long time, the Post Code display was constantly changing for hours followed by a clicking sound from the speaker. Then it eventually settled at a value of 8. After a further half an hour it resumed the diagnostics (with the code changing and the clicking sound audible again) and finally showed 0.0. That meant the computer could be booted.
Nowadays the continuous reboots have started occuring again. I have powered down the computer (by switching off the power supply in the brief pause before the reboot) but after powering on later it would just display code 8. for days and would not start. The battery replacement and CMOS clear mentioned above do not help.
I would be grateful for any help.
