  New research, which has yet to be peer-reviewed, shows that Covid survivors are three and a half times more likely to be readmitted to hospital and subsequently die compared to other conditions.
  The University of Leicester and UK Office for National Statistics looked at 47,780 people who were discharged from hospital from the first wave of the virus in Britain, and found that just under a third (29.4%) returned to hospital within 140 days, while 12.3% died.
