  The challange has been set for Sebastien Loeb after his Kronos Racing team managed to repair the damaged Xsara WRC in the allotted 2h 45m. The Frenchman took to the start of Saturday's opening stage in eighth postion, 3min 43secs off the leaders, but victory on Stage 7 cut that deficit by 15 seconds.
  
  Leader Marcus Gronholm was second on the 22.54km Sigale stage, 15.7 seconds adrift, with Austria's Manfred Stohl an impressive third and reigning Junior WRC champion Daniel Sordo a brilliant fourth in what is his first WRC outing.   STAGE 8: LOEB TAKES SLENDER WIN
  
  The field has reacted to Loeb's pace on the opening stage by cutting the Frenchman's advantage on Stage 8. The champion took the stage win, but by only 2.3 seconds ahead of Subaru's Stephane Sarrazin with leader Marcus Gronholm 5 seconds back in third, stretching his lead to 1min 34.5secs... Results
  
  
  STAGE 9: LOEB GAINS TWO PLACES AS DUVAL CRASHES
  
  Sebastien Loeb takes his thirs successive stage win to move from eighth to sixth in the overall standings. The Frenchman was helped by Francois Duval's off, who loses his sixth place, and Gilles Panizzi's lack of pace as he continues to struggle with the handling of his Red Bull Skoda, dropping him to seventh overall.
  
  Marcus Gronholm's second fastest time on the 18.73km stage, 6.1 seconds shy of Loeb, sees him extend his lead to almost two minutes ahead of Manfred Stohl who leagforgs Toni Gardemeister.
