The Technology Training Programme is designed to develop highly skilled and motivated technologists who partner with our businesses to solve complex problems through the use of technology.The 15-week Technology Training Programme is held twice a year, in February and August and the curriculum includes intensive tech¬nology training, orientation to Morgan Stanley, an overview of the securities industry, exposure to senior managers, professional skills workshops and a project addressing real business needs. Trainees develop a strong network of colleagues during the programme and build lasting relationships.
Throughout the recruiting process, candidate’s skill sets and interests will be matched to appropriate hiring groups in challenging roles such as business application development, application infrastructure development and enterprise engineering.
After the training program:
After the 15-week training hires will start to work full-time in one of the Technology teams in our Budapest office.Candidates are considered for either application development or infrastructure teams based on their academic experience/background, preference and skill sets demonstrated throughout the interview process.
Development Teams
Our development teams are tasked with designing, developing and maintaining applications used by our business units. Daily activities include meeting with clients to gather and analyze requirements; making system design decisions; evaluating, integrating and developing necessary software; and testing and deploying applications to production. Developing high performing low latency electronic trading systems across multiple asset classes, providing sophisticated risk management analytics and systems, and evolving complex workflows and life-cycle management capabilities across increasingly sophisticated products are just some of the many projects available for developers within our technical organizations.Application Development explores a broad range of software engineering technologies with the intention of developing excellent design and programming skills. Advanced techniques are explored throughout. The curriculum includes intensive and advanced work in C++, Java, Linux/Unix, Windows, Perl, .NET, C#, object-oriented analysis and design, relational databases, middleware, XML/SOAP, messaging, systems architecture, systems integration and firm-specific tools.
Infrastructure Teams
Our infrastructure facing teams are tasked with developing systems to run our business. Our engineers provide tools, applications and platforms such as the Firm's networks, computing hardware, operating systems, and databases for the Firm’s trading applications, communication applications and other end user applications. As a large and global environment, these teams are tasked with providing applications that span the breadth of the Firm in an efficient manner. Engineering the Firm's websites, managing the Windows plant, and developing a client reporting delivery system are some of the projects available for infrastructure engineers in our organizations.
Computing Infrastructure consists of in-depth training in computer funda¬mentals, networks, databases, proprietary systems, hardware, Linux/Unix and Windows, middleware, software management and administration.Infrastructure track consists of in-depth training in computer fundamentals, networks, databases, proprietary systems, hardware, Linux/Unix and Windows, middleware, software management and administration.
Selection Process
Applicants go through first-round HR and technical phone interviews and, if selected, will attend an Assessment Centre which includes Q&A with Morgan Stanley technologists, technical and interpersonal interview, problem-solving exercise and group exercise.Skills Required
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Language skills: English
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work and interact with others
• Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related science or engineering discipline.
• Ideal candidates are fresh graduates or have maximum 2 year of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated strong interest in Information TechnologySkills Desired
