ASUS-nál az M5A97 PRO és EVO/EVO 2.0 a legolcsóbb épkézláb tuningra való lap a 6+2-es tápellátásuk miatt. M5A97 / M5A97 LE (és 2.0 verzióik) ezzel szemben csak 4+1-es tápellátást kaptak, ez a baj a Giga 970-es Extreme3 és 4-es lapokkal is. Gigabyte 990XA UD3 8+2-es tápellátást kapott (tán ugyanazt, mint a 990FXA UD3, akkor ő is rendben van). Nem olyan brutális tuningra való a fenti Asusokkal egyetemben, mint egy Crosshair V Formula, de renben vannak.

"Each phase can be supplied with 50A ofsteady current totheCPU, combining for 400A total. That sounds likequitea bit, but compareit to theCrosshair V Formula, which also has an 8+2 phase VRMbutwith higherspec’d FETs, and you’ll seeanother reason the 990FXA-UD3 is moreaffordable. TheCrosshairV Formula has 3 FETs per phase, which can supply over 2000 amps to the CPU. This is obviously overkill, as under normal loads (125W@ 1.425v) theFX 8150 draws around 88A. However if you arebrute-forcing an overclock whiletrying to break records, it is not uncommon forthis CPU to draw 350-450W at1.5v and up, which means it is drawing a current upwards of300 A. By that point, you aregetting pretty closeto the maximum output ofthe VRM, which is usually nota good thing."
